‘Forouzan’ wins award in India

International Film Festival of Sriganganagar in India has awarded ‘Forouzan’.

The International Film Festival of Sriganganagar (IFFSG) in India has announced 2019 award winners with ‘Forouzan’ grabbing the jury prize of the event.

Abbas Khosravinejad’ leading short film tells the story of a widow who lives with her two young children in a village. She attempts to protect her family and their herd of sheep against the attack of thieves at midnight.

Khosravinejad’s award-winning title has attended various international film events before, including 2018 Pickurflick Indie Film Festival in India, 2018 High Peak Independent Filmfest in the UK, 2018 Queen City Cinephiles in the US, 3rd Inca Imperial Int’l Film Festival in Peru, 21st FRESCO Int’l Filmfest in Armenia, and 5th Los Angeles Diversity Filmfest in the US.

Previous awards granted to ‘Forouzan’ are Best Short Film Award from the 1st Astoria Film Festival and an honorable mention from Independent Shorts Awards in the US.

The purpose of the International film festival of Sriganganagar is to promote new movie makers, exchange of knowledge, information, ideas and culture between India and other nations in context of their social and cultural ethos.
